Topo letters ?

WC/MC-- Witness corner; Meander corner. "A witness corner "stands in" when the true corner cannot be monumented or occupied because of difficult terrain or obstruction of the corner sight. The witness corner must be on the section line and is usually 5 or 10 chains away from the true corner. A meander corner is the intersection of a township, range, or section line and the banks of a navigable stream or meandering body of water."

SMC-- The only meaning I know of for SMC would data based from the Scottish Mountaineering Club. The maps are suppose to be compatible with Garmin GPSs

WP-- If your dealing with a GPS, WP would probably be way point.
