It's never too early for trail cams. It all comes down to what you want to see. Some deer may still be in a migration path to the summer range. Antler growth is still in process and will be a while. So if you just want to see a few critters, put it up. If you are trying to scout an area, you may want to wait a month or so.

Never hurts to put one up. It always fun to see what's passing through an area.

Just make sure you post up the pics :)

Remember the rules of trail cameras. Read the proclamation and you will see that it is way to early for a camera. If the forest service finds your camera they will take it or the sd card. You can put all the cameras you want on private property but not on forest service land.

I found bucks on their summer range last night and it was snowing (8500-9000')!
Some are already balling up their 3rd and 4th tines. It's going to depend on the
area. This particular herd does move down to 5000' during the winter, but
they don't have to go far (5 miles or so).
I say start checking em out every chance you get. It was nice to see 5 decent bucks on my first evening trip of the year.

Here's my pics from this week.
