Just found out I drew a goat tag for Timp. I'd love to take him with a bow. Does anyone have the record book info on how many lady hunters have take goats with a bow in Utah? I'm so excited - if anyone has any helpfull info on this area or my chances to take my goat with a bow - please feel free.

If you can kill a goat up there with a bow, I would put you in for the hunter of the year. I can give you some info on where to find the goats if you need it. I live in that area and have seen the goats there alot. Also, I know an area in there that you may be able to get close enough with a bow without rock climbing or being at on cliffs. Email me at [email protected]

I really don't think it would be that hard to take a goat off the Timp Unit with a bow. There are many goats close to the trails that see humans every day and most are not wary. The biggest problem you will have on the hunt will be dealing with the NonHunting hikers. I would recommend that you hunt during the week to keep conflicts to a minimum. Using primative weapons can be fun, but usually the best animals are left on the mountain. Good luck on your hunt and I can help more if you want it.
