Stop in Dillon on the way and eat at sparkys, the little restraunt on the south end of town, it'll be the first exit you come to. Get the Cadillac breakfast, and hope that your hotel has a plunger!
 
its a hippie college town. Hamilton Mt isn't to far away. also not far from the bob-marshall-wilderness.. I have always just passed through the towns

Also, don't know what you have already planned, but be sure to go visit the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the Boone and Crockett Club.
 
Go to T Falls. Maybe you can look up my brother-in-law and smoke some weed. Maybe knock over a liquor store or something.
 
Go to Wise River, MT and see if they have another Bull Elk in the coral across the street from the Hotel/Bar there in that small town. The sheds from the bull that was there in 1977 were on the ceiling of the bar as you come in the door.

Odds are once you get to Missoula you will check into your hotel room, hook up to the wifi and spend the whole time on MM pissing people off! :)
 
LAST EDITED ON Jan-16-13 AT 07:49AM (MST)[p]Drive north to Kalispell along the east side of Flathead Lake. Takes a couple of hours. If it is spring you will see the fruit groves in bloom. Some good restaurants in Kalispell and Whitefish which is a ski town just north. There is a rifle manufacturer in Kalispell also. Montana Rifle Company.

He long ago sold those hundreds of monster muleys to Cabelas but still has the Broder buck, several 300"ers and hundreds if not thousands of the biggest shed antlers you will ever see.

Stopped in that bar a couple years ago, impressive how his antlers changed over the years! Was up hunting kinda near there in 2011.
Also stopped in the little town back closer to the freeway where the parking lot is an extension of the the roadway (forgot the name of the bar).
