ME BEING A SELF TAUGHT "HOBBY TAXIDERMIST" HOLY CRAP I HAVE BEEN DOING THEM ALL WRONG! HERE IS A BEFORE SHOT OF THE SHEDS IM GOING TO MOUNT, OTHER THAN I HAVE SWITCHED MANNIKINS TO A FULL SNEAK POSITION.
I WILL KEEP POSTING PHOTOS AS WE PUT IT TOGETHER,, IF ANYONE WANTS TO SEE THEM??

231,
Looks good! Awesome sheds- Do you know a good easy to mount elk sheds. Not on a manican but just the skull? Keep updating the progress!

231, wish I was there. Nothing like learning from the masters. I've had the opportunity to work one on one with one of the greats. He taught me more over a weekend than I had learned 7 years previous.
Just remember, there's a 100 different ways of doing the same thing. Go to as many seminars you can, and you'll find out that all do things different, and you just have to find out what works for you. But, if you use Lancaster's techniques, you can't go wrong.
If you ever get a chance, take a mountain lion class from him. He is the best cat guy in the country. I'd love to learn from him.

It really looks like what your doing would be a blast! Is it very difficult to get into the taxidermy hobby? Where would you begin with hobby like that and what is the cost to get started? Any advice would be appreciated.

Were do you guys find antlers blocks? I'm doing my first deer set and I've looked at Mequezie's and Van Dykes and I haven't found much selection. I'm going to put them on a european panel and was also wondering if there is anyone else that carries these kinds of panels? I'm also wondering what type of clay would be best to fill in the gap between the antler block? Any help would be great?

oats.
I get my skull plates from research manikinns. 1-800-826-0654
the part numbers are like # s-414 for mule deer, they have many differnt sizes too choose from. call them and they will send you a catalog. as far a clay, you shouldnt need any, if done right. e-mail me if you need the exact way to do it.
