If you find anyone better than Jim Marsico on the north side of
Cody, please let me know. He does all the animals John and I have taken and there is nobody better IMHO. He has an antelope diorama in the Smithsonian Museum in DC and a grizzly in the Buffalo Bill Museum in Cody, does taxidermy and sculptures for people around the world.

If you don't mind crossing the border. High Unitas Taxidermy in Coalville does a great job.

No personal expeierence with his work but he has contacted me about my sheep tag this year and I'll def be giving him a try!!

Here are two full body mounts in his shop. John had his 2003 ram done in a full body mount, but I cant find the picture in my files right now.

Nice, I won't be doing a full body mount but I'm looking into the wall pedestal. Hopefully I can do my part to give him some work lol

I can recommend a taxidermist, but he's not in Wyoming; but close. He won first place for a full body mount last year( or this year) at the taxidermy competition in Illinois. Not sure if this competition was U.S. or world competition, but it speaks volumes about his work. He is based in Morgan, Utah, and does LOTS of full body mounts. When I was there a couple weeks ago picking up a couple mounts, he had 2 mountain lions fighting over a mule deer that he had just completed. What an awesome display!
He's expensive, but high quality. And he gets your stuff done in under a year. I took him my elk in September of last year and picked him up a couple weeks ago.

Taxidermists are artists, all with different strengths. You need to know what you find important in your mount. Then find the artist that loves creating what you seek in your mount. The actual mount is only a small portion of what you will perceive to be the best. From the way the ears sit, head turns, eyes are finished, the wood used on the base, the rock and vegetation, etc. Look into all the names mentioned, when you find one that has a passion that matches your ideal mount, then you have found the "best".
Interview them about your idea. Most "can" create your vision. Find the one that is the most energetic about what you are asking. Look for small hints that they may not be 100% bought into your idea. The little things will make the difference in exceeding your expectations. Clarification questions are good...little nudges to modify your vision are the separators.

Mass is the hardest to judge. Horns longer than twice the ears is easy, but mass adds up fast. Sometimes a really heavy buck looks short.
Some good taxidermist up in Casper, we just know ours and he is very respected in his field.
I would find a respected local taxidermist for your antelope, many can do antelope but how many live amongst them and see them all the time. A taxidermist who has to mount one based on pics and not first hand knowledge would not be my choice.
That being said there are many bad taxidermist around antelope country too.
Stop in some shops and look at the work.
