Went out yesterday chasing the snow for one more lion hunt and saw 11 bulls looks like there just starting to loose there horns here as some had already dropped 1 or 2 and some still had both. Saw a bigger herd and glassed them from a ways off and saw some carrying only one horn in that bunch also. Lotsa rag horns in that bunch. good luck to all. dgarrett

Most are still packin.....we have picked a few though. A buddy of mine glassed a group of 22 bulls last thursday and all were still packing both sides.

Picked up one today but all the bulls I saw were packin both sides still.

I always hear about some derelik pulling sheds in the WMA's before they open. Just heard it again yesterday. If this is continually true then I guess that's why I don't do very well on opening day. I'd love to hide behind a tree and gut shoot these slobs. But other than that I'm ok with it. Is our Fish and Game that bad?

I hear ya Zigga! Ive got a good idea who a few of those slobs are, unfortionately when they do get caught they get a slap on the wrist and get sent off to do it again. Doubt Ill bother with the WMA's at all this year.

Which WMA's do you think are getting poached the most? I've hit opening day twice at several WMA's with no success, although my buddy did pull a sweet matching 7x7 set out of the B-C WMA. Gonna try a different WMA this year that I've seen a few elk on.

I know the Bear Creek Management area near Ennis gets hit hard. When I go in opening morning, there are old foot and horse tracks in the snow. How hard can it be to patrol that once in a while? I would not recommend this one. Where is the B-C WMA?

Blackfoot Clearwater WMA. Up in the Ovando area. I'll be trying a different one come May 15.

That Clearwater Gets POUNDED all winter/early spring by the Seeley boys... They do scoop some sheds up on opener though...mostly horse guys from what I've seen though..
