Just curious if anyone out there uses the sportsman special or the lethal weapon max sight. I bought the sportsman speacial and did not really like it. Thought maybe the lethal weapon max with 5 pins might be a better setup. Any thoughts?

I have the lethal weapon max and I love it. I did change it to a one pin housing but its working very well for me. Its nice to be able to set up for exactally how far I want to shoot.

I use the sportsmans special. Love it; it is awesome for spot and stalk type hunting. The only downside to this sight is if you get an animal that starts out at say 30 yds then runs to 50 or 60 yard. Sometime you can't move the sight fast enough before the animal disappears.

Just make sure you're a disciplined person. I missed a 370"+ bull in NM this year using the lethal weapon Max 5 pin because of abcent mindedness. I had adjusted the sight the night before right at dusk for a potential 70 yd shot but could not see pins. Well after being dissapointed at not getting the shot I forgot to adjust the sight back down to the neutral position. The next morning is when a shot presented at the huge bull within the 60 yd range and I shot over his back. I thought there is no way I just did that. It was a good shot. Looked down at my sight and saw that it was set for 70 yds. I wanted to puke right there on the spot. This was a bull of a lifetime and I just missed it because I was not disciplined enough to check my sight before going out in the field each time or before the shot.
If it were a single pin then I would had to of adjusted the sight before each shot but being 5 pins presents the problem of most times not needing to adjust leaving it open to do what I did.

Ouch bubbas...I feel your pain!

I have a max with three pins set to 25, 40, and 50. My theory is that this will cover 80% of my shots and if I have time and need to dial in better I have marks out to 90 yds.

I have a SS and use to think it was the best thing out there! now mixed feelings- I think a lot of guys are getting them thinking this will enable them to shoot 100+yds accurately. I personally changed back to the spot-hogg 7 pin sight and feel I have planty of yardage not to mention an invinsible sight. Some of the blck gold sights are really good to.
