If any of you are in the Strawberry area this weekend stop by and say hello. We will be stopping boat owners and having them fill-out the zebra mussel questionare before they launch. Nothing like procrastinating to get your DH hours in at the last second. It sure beats building fences in this heat though. Have a good weekend and stop by if your in the area.

Slap Berryblaster upside the noggin when ya get there and get him out of bed before 10am!!

Slam - I will for sure. Where's he at up there? Maybe I'll ask if I can bumm a ride from him and take a look at those 30+ bulls he's seeing.

I'm 90% sure I'm going up in the morning... dark grey 05 quad cab GMC, stop and say hi :)

Dallan - I'll try to find ya. I'll be in an Blue 04 Ford 4-Door. Or if your launching I'll most likely be the guy that has to come around and get a form completed from ya.

Bud-
He lives there at the Marina, that's his baby :)

He'll see this post and chime in....i'll even text him and give him a heads up.

Not a single person around checking or careing about boats when we launched this morning. Long live the zebra mussles I guess (jk ;)).

Rode over to SC Side and promptly found the Kokes, we did our best ever on them until 10am anyway when it totally stopped. Oddly we caught 3 rainbows in a row on one pole running a green koke rig... even set the rigger depth down to 45ft to get away from them and still picked them up. 1 unlucky dumb cut hooked up as well.

Fun... but time for a nap.

Ya we got sent to the Soldier Creek side. We had to cover SC and Aspen Grove (very few boats). It was a good time though (nice and cool). I stopped by the Marina a couple times but you weren't there Berryblaster.

Dallan - They should have checked you at Strawberry though. They have a truck there setup with a big banner on it at the top of the boat ramp. I found out some new news about the Zebra mussels myself this weekend. If somebody isn't there to check you, every boat is supposed to self certify before they launch and put their paper in the window (at every lake in Utah). They aren't writing tickets yet but they will be writing tickets in the future if you don't self register. I had no clue about it. The signs aren't ver big but they are noticeable if your looking for them.

PS- Everyone on the Soldier Creek side wasn't catching anything this weekend. Some didn't catch a fish all weekend. If I couldn't catch fish at Strawberry, I'd quit. We've never had a hard time. We caught fish this weekend from the shore while checking boats :).

I must have. I'll have to stop by another time and hit you up. I'm jealous of that cool weather you have right now.

That's weird! I just came into Strawberry after some great fishing at Lake Mead. I didn't see anybody I knew!

Where were you guys? Weird!

There was no-one checking, no truck... no sign, no forms to fill out... nada, zero, zilch. Officers there better start getting up earlier. Maybe they can give out the form where you pay the entrance fee if they are going to require it on boats.

I will for sure next time. Have you had much luck up there this year on the Kokes?

banner year mm it was slow startin but now its insane were gonna take the record back from the gorge this year i think

judging by what we seen in our nets its only going to get better over the next couple of years too.

Dallan - They have several signs up there already. The one by the boat ramp has a clear holder on its post for the self-register forms. I tried to get them to give the forms out at the pay stations but they acted like that wasn't a possibility. The gal at the pay station on the SC side wanted the forms and she also wanted to know more about it so she could tell boaters coming in. I think the DWR is really understaffed on this issue right now. The pay station at each lake would have been the first people that I talked to aout cooperating.
