has shed hunting really come to this? why cant you wait a month or two until they drop for sure instead of being out there hassling the animals? it is only a shed antler but it seems anymore that shed hunting is merely a way to extend the hunting season. honestly, is it not more rewarding to be walking along and then all of a sudden you stumble upon a shed than to have watched the animals for months and as soon as the shed hits the dirt you pick it up? i think we can all agree that this has been a hard winter in a lot of areas and such unnecessary pressure is exactly why some states have instituted shed seasons. dont ruin it for the rest of us by chasing these animals to their deaths simply to satsisfy your fix.

Happy Hunting

THE ONLY bobcat THAT KNOWS ALOT OF YOU HAVE HAD THIS IMAGE IN YOUR PEA BRAIN BUT DUE TO POOR SHOOTING TACTICS I'M STILL KICKIN!!!

That bull doesn't look that nervous to me. In fact, it looks like you took those pics through a spotting scope, from a good distance, not at all hassling him. No harm done unless he can feel your optics burning a whole in him.
I do think it's important to let the animals clear before you walk in, but it doesn't look like your pressuring them at all. Good for you for keeping your distance, and good luck finding them later.

Ya pic's were taken through a SS 400-500 yds away. These guys never even knew that I was there.

Great pics of a great bull!!! Thanks for postin'. How did ya get em' to stand still long enough for a pic after you chased them out of their winter range???? Ha Ha LOL. Some people I tell ya. I am glad we still have a few around here that love to jump to conclusions......

I would suggest when bulls are in the poor condition as the bull in the pics appears to be, you don't expect them to shed on "time" or early. I have seen 6x6 bulls on the 28th of May they looked like hell. If a bull is in good condition whe can begin to grow new antler, and thus will drop. I think it's opposite with deer and moose, the worse off they are the sooner they shed.

Thanks for the info BIGBONE, I had not heard that before. I think that these bulls will start to fatten up now that the green grass is coming through.

sliver,
what state is that? nice pics.people that are not good "hunters" i find don't understand that you can interact with animals and have them not even know you are there.thats kind of my hunting motto "slip in slip out".i have seen "slob" shed hunters alot here in az but you can't lable everyone because of a few.good luck on finding those can't wait to see pics of that heavy bull.

Thanks averagejoe, I would like to consider myself kinda "sneekee" no pun intended. I have archery hunted for 5 or6 years now so hopefully I have learned the ability to sneak within 500 yards of the elusive bull elk. Slip in and slip out, I like that.
