Spring Bear

I drew a NR Minam/Imnaha bear tag and will have one week to hunt. Would you go early or late in the season?

I would go late. I hunted Spring Bear last year. We took two trips. One early and one late. We did not see a bear early and saw quite a few late.

Depends on where you are planning on hunting. Usually end of May there is more access to bear areas. However, there is very lil snow pack this year. Big boars will be out early May. The way this year is going, end of May might be too hot and dry, and it will be like hunting August bears. Stay in touch with me, I live over here and am in the Mtns everyday. But if it was me, I would check elevation of where you are wanting to go. You can already get around at 4,000ft! good luck!
