spotting scope and camera

Is there a camera that will take pictures through a Swaro spotting scope without the black ring around the outside of the pictures. I dont really want to carry the Swaro flip down adaptor if I can get away from.

A Nikon Coolpix (or similar) with the Vortex adaptor from CameraLand.

I don't get a black ring and it takes great pics (and video).

you are usually best off with a compact camera with a zoom under 4X for this problem. Hard to explain why, but the cameras with the low zoom levels just work better than ones made for higher zoom levels.

schmalts is right. SLR's don't work well.

Make sure you are only using Optical Zoom. Turn off Digital Zoom.
