Question for you guys that have spotting scopes. I have a good pair of leupold 12 power binoculars, but am thinking about getting a vortex spotting scope to go with em. Those who have spotting scopes, how do you use them? Do you use it to actually find animals, or just to judge an animal at long distances. I would mainly want to use it for finding game, but was wondering if this puts too much strain on your eye.

I had a poor spotting scope in the past and only used it to determine bucks from does once I found deer in my binos. This year I bought a Vortex Skyline spotting scope and used it to judge deer as well as to locate them. You will get some eyestrain after about 45 minutes of looking through a good spotting scope but just take frequent brakes and they can be very beneficial for locating game at long distances which are out of range of your 12 power binos.
