Spot and Stalk Archery Bear

I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for decent areas to stalk bears with a bow. I know of a few spots where I always see bears in the spring (unit 39), but I seem to see more sows and cubs then big boars. Do they typically distance themselves during the spring until they start to breed in June/July?

I'm not a big bear hunter and most springs I'd rather look for elk sheds, but this year I've found more dead bulls (wolf Kills)than I have sheds so I'm getting a little discouraged. So I figured I might as well see if I can stick a bear with my bow.

As always thanks in advance for any responses.
