Arizona Elk, Deer and Wolves.

The wolf people, including those groups like the Humane Society of the United States, PETA, the Sierra Club, and Defenders of Wildlife, want to do away with Elk and Deer hunting, want to expand the wolf population in Arizona to include all Elk and Deer habitat across the central part of the state as well as north of the Grand Canyon. The maps they are using overlay, almost perfectly, all the Elk and Deer habitat in the state. These groups will stop at nothing and have authored many articles without including all the information about the truth. Look how long it took Montana, Wyoming and Idaho to get hunting of the wolves and now they are back in court spending millions of dollars fighting the wolf people that want the hunting to stop, even though it was always part of the plan from the beginning. We don't need this in Arizona.

Please take a few minutes and protect our Elk, Deer, Antelope and Big Horn Sheep hunting here in Arizona.

Send an email to [email protected] or mail it to Mexican Wolf Project, Attn: Terry Johnson, 5000 W. Carefree Highway, Phoenix, AZ. 85086.

We have until June 25th to comment.

Points to include in your comments:

? Sportsmen have paid to bring back wildlife, including elk and bighorn sheep to the State and want to maintain them.

? The current drought situation has kept our elk, deer and cattle herds low and in many cases dwindling and any expansion of the wolf population or wolf recovery area could decimate them.

? Protection of our hunting heritage is extremely important for the continuation of Arizona?s wildlife management programs.

? The current wolf program has failed to meet its objectives. To expand it will only compound the problem.

? I would not like to see any expansion of the current wolf population.

Hopefully many many people have responded to this and sent out the emails to others to generate as much response to AZGFD as possible. This issue will not go away if we sit back and watch................ Thanks, Allen Taylor......

I fully agree Allen. My wife and I both sent letters opposing this. You guys need to take a few minutes and write a letter to state your views and opposition. If not you'll may be looking at new wolf reintroduction programs in AZ. Possibly the Kaibab, the strip, unit 10, 9, the Grand canyon and where ever else they may expand their range from there. It's time for you sportsmen to speak out on this issue because I guarantee you that the wolf supporters have written many letters and are pushing for more areas and more $$$$ other than where they are. They will support the poll of public opinion on this unless they hear from sportsmen! It's time to act boys if you care about the future of hunting in your state! More predators= FEWER PERMITS!!!!!!!!

I sent my letter. I explained the difference between the radical groups basing their goals on emotion rather than scientific fact. I also let them know what sportsmen and women do for wildlife. We need to have numbers of people write in. We have to show strong opposition to this by expressing our views, concers and with many numbers. Lets help each other and ban together on this.

LETTER SENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

?We abuse land because we regard it as a commodity belonging to us. When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect.? Aldo Leopold

The wolf lovers have been at the north rim and south rim of the Grand Canyon for three years now. they set up their booth on the south rim at market plaza and on the north rim they are in front of the visitor center. they bug the public for donations and hand out propaganda, and tee shirts and posters for donations. They are raking in the money. on the south rim they were cracked down on a little for breaking the rules(selling tee shirts and posters) the north rim they bent over backwards for them letting them set up outside the designated area and sell tee shirts. if you are in the area people should try to bait them to sell you a shirt and get it on video and call a ranger if they blow it off ask for a business card and sent a copy of the video to the big wigs on the south rim. (Mike Archer) ask them how much for a tee shirt if they say donation they are legal but if they say 20 bucks they are not. it just pisses me off how the parkies break let them break the rules and accommodate these enviro whackos.but are hard asses on every one else.
