I thought the shed contest was awesome. sold a ton of bone, saw tons of monsters and got to meet a bunch of real cool people. all and all i thought it turned out way good. what do you guys that went think?

I thought it was great... saw you walking around and was going to say hi but you was always busy. Lot's of really cool sheds & heads. Hope Sportsmans makes ir a annual event.

This was funner than the Antlerfest. I got to re-connect with a few old friends, and I saw some amazing sheds. I brought a couple sheds to show off, but after seeing what was there, I don't think they stood a chance. I got sun burned too. Great weekend.

WTH dleonard, I thought we (Antlerfest) took care of everybody pretty good. Considering we have zero sponsorship and make just enough to put it on again the next year. Obviously we can't compete with sportsmans prizes, because we aren't selling their products. Just putting on an antler show for people to enjoy sheds. Sorry we're such a disappointment for ya.

Calm down Yelum ;)

Who cares what dleonard says? He has to buy all his sheds anyhow.

I think antlerfest and shedsandheads should be for people that find antlers, not buying them and then "showing" them off.

I'm just barking loud, but still wagging my tail. lol

Before we started AF, we had to stroll the isles of the local sporting goods stores to get our antler rush. Its been a blast seeing what has shown up at these shows. We've seen the WR NT muley sheds, huge AK moose palms. Hands on opportunities to hold big sheds, heads and deads. And I believe AF was the first chance many MM'rs got to meet in person. Like everything else, money talks and corporate sponsorship rules the roost. We'll see what the future holds. Just enjoy what you can.

You guys sure know how to make yourselves look like jerks. You must have had lots of practice.

I've driven up to the antlerfest every year, and had a great time, but I've never been surrounded by the friendly locals like I was down here in good old St. George. If you guys don't like me, that's fine. I'll get over it. Maybe I'll just forget about the Antler Fest this year - I can tell when people don't want me around. Also, nobody seemed interested in my "purchased" antlers, so I'll just leave those monsterous pieces of crap on the pile and quit showing them off. After all, I'm sure they would much rather see the little ones I actually find myself.

By the way, I didn't win anything, but I spent a little money on the Bear Archery shoot - Nice bows. Quiet and fast, but obviously not sighted in for my style.

Not sure if your post was directed at me or not, but I'm pretty sure I didn't come off as a jerk, or even say anything negative to you or anyone else. Not even sure I've met you, so I can't say whether I like you or not. If you've got big sheds, I like to see em, whether they are bought or found, I don't care. I never found any off my big sheds either. Thats what these shows are about, showing off big sheds that are grown by the deer or elk. So bring em down and show me what you got. I aint hard to find. Look for the guy in a wheelchair.

Yelum, go back and re-read your posts out loud and with a nasty tone in your voice.............

Sometimes it's hard to tell what tone is on these posts, and they can be mis-read, but between you and Wyodeerhunter's reply, I think I got the hint pretty well. It doesn't seem like good advertisement to me.

I re-read my post, and I did not say anything negative about you. I just questioned why you felt you need to compare a no budget Antlerfest with a high budget shed/head show, stating that we try and put on a show for everyone to enjoy, with no agenda. You brought the negative in by bringing us up. Sorry you got all butt hurt by WY's comments. He isn't promoting AF, I am. If you don't want to come, its your call.

The main reason I liked the St. George show better, was because of the people I knew there. It's easier for me to talk to people I know. I guess I'm kinda shy. Antler Fest is bigger, and that means more antlers to look at (which is always good). Prizes and give-aways don't play into it much, because I never seem to win anything. My wife likes to combine a trip to IKEA while I'm fondling horns, so it usually works out great. If I go this year, I'll be glaring at you from a distance, but I'll try to avoid any uncomfortable introductions.

Well I don't carry a grudge and you haven't affended me. So if I haven't affended you there shouldn't be any reason to be uncomfortable. I'll look for the guy with the glare. lol If you've got big sheds then I'd love to see them. This year AF will be at the Midvale Sportsmans Warehouse. Hope to see you there.

Anybody have some popcorn?

Sit tall in the saddle, hold your head up high, keep your eyes fixed to where the trail meets the sky...

I really liked it. I wish that they would have given out prizes for all the categories besides just the two but other then that i liked it better then antlerfest.

We would have loved to give out more prizes for the contest. We can't exceed $500 to a winner per the DWR rules. I think everything went as planned. I would like suggestions and comments to improve things for next year. I want to thank everyone who brought in their antlers, it was cool to see all the big stuff.

LAST EDITED ON May-21-10 AT 04:50PM (MST)[p]Man, the least you could do Eric is if you're going to use MM to promote the antler thing is share some pics. Don't just take, but maybe give a little back to the site.

Brian I have a ton more I would like to share with everyone, but I keep getting this error message.

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 17152 bytes) in /home/monster5/public_html/photos/upload.php on line 62

The pics are the same size as the ones I loaded. Could I email them to you and have you put them on for me.

They must be too big. I'll have to modify the script. Ya, email them over and I'll post them in another thread for all to enjoy. Thanks! That's what I'm talking about.

You guys might want to look at the pics again i think he was taking about the #8 on the tag not the #8 pic. well at leased i hope he was.

Yeah, you got it HUNTFORLIFE, I was looking at the #8 on her green tag.... funny that the "8th picture" just happens to be the big guy tho, you guys are twisted.

What ever happened to "RESPECT"???? That fine young lady holding the #8 tag could be someones wife, daughter, or girlfriend........ You shouldn't be making comments like that on a public forum. You can mumble it to yourself, but never where someone can hear you. In the "good old days" what you said could and should get you decked.

I think you should appologize to this young lady for your rude, dis-respectful, and objectifying comments. They were un-warrented, un-called for, and un-civilized.

LAST EDITED ON May-28-10 AT 08:04PM (MST)[p]My bad, you're right actually. I got carried away posting first thought with the anonymity of the internet and shouldn't have. Didn't mean any offense, only compliments. And sorry to the young lady in the picture.
