Companys that are looking to sponsor someone are going to expect that for providing products to you that you have a solid way of promoting there products and company image, giving them credibility and increasing sales.

Just the fact of being an avid hunter, even a fairly acomplished avid hunter is usually not enough to gain notable sponsorship. Usually you have to be involved in competitive shooting, television or Video, outdoor writing, public speaking or somthing of that nature to attract sponsors.

Over my years of working in the industry we have sponsored some guys that just love to hunt, usually those are guys that go the extra mile to show you how they are already promoting your products on there own dime.

Make sure you send in a good resume and contact them I know we litterly get hundreds of requests a week and you have to do something to stand out.

i already have a camera man from northern new mexico that is willing to video all my upcoming hunts this year. i dress in all max-1 camo and shoot a pse and only gold tip arrows. i have in the field trophy photos of a few animals with these products and i am planing to make plenty of statements about the products in my videos. i plan on sending in videos to the companies and whoever else i need to. i am wondering wat else i might be over looking that might be able to help me out. what kind of marketing ideas would you guys try.

You need to be handsome, humorous and debonaire.

Project a good public image, be a good speaker, be physically fit and appear literate.

All these traits can, of course, be overlooked, providing that your wife has big hooters!

"....but by God, I never said a word to a pig!"

No offense, but you're not showing potential sponsors anything that a million whitetail hunters don't already wear and shoot. Think outside of the box. What can you bring that some other smokin joe isn't doing? Try the new up and comer companies who aren't already fixed in the industry. Nobody cares that you shoot a PSE and killed a 6 point in the Gila, or your Rage broadhead smoked a 150 class 4-point in Utah. Better bring something else to the table. Good luck.

The only marketing idea that has worked for me is to promise to be there every morning at 5:30. Only then will the company sponsor me.:)

>Yeah, but he's not trying to
>get sponsored by viagra boz!
>

I was talking about my hunting habit Zeke. I forgot about pushing that" envelope". I don't need any blue pills yet but taping one to the head board and licking on it like a salt block would not be a bad idea to get the party started:)
