Southwest WA Steelhead

I'm going to go after steelhead for the first time (I just moved to WA from AZ) this weekend, probably on the Cowlitz one day and then on either the Lewis or the Kalama for another day. I'll be bankcasting and will probably use a drift rig with cork, yarn and sand shrimp. Any advice? I literally know nothing about fishing for steelhead other than what I've read on the internet, so any tips or reccomendations on methods, lures, or areas would be greatly appreciated.

sagarcher,

Go to Blue Creek on the Cowlitz. Just follow the people from the parking lot down to the hole. Cast corkies and yarn. Try rainbow corkies and white yarn with some smelly jelly and hold on to your rod. The river is loaded with fish right now. Let us know how you did.
