Southwest 5x5 down

This is a 5x5 bull I killed on Thursday down in the sagebrush country. Bulls were bugling like crazy. Missed a monster bull ); but what the heck. This one will eat good. He was a LONG way off. I cow called to him and he came running all the way down his side of the canyon wall and up my side right to me.

Way to go man! Good to see some bulls still coming out of that country. I grew up archery hunting that area as a kid and had a blast chasing elk in that tall sagebrush when they were around.

Thanks for the comments guys. Its always neat to get an elk down whether big or small. Each one is different and unique in its own way. I want to buy an out of state tag so bad and go again but my wife thinks there are better things to do with that $500. Dangit.
