South forks of salmon river salmon

Just tryin to plan a trip to the south fork this year for kings and I was wondering when the fishing is usually best?

when it does open, be sure to check on it regularly. f&g will close that fishery in the blink of an eye.

Thanks guys I have been checking the dam counts pretty fun to watch the cameras too! I fished it a couple years ago and only had one day before they closed it, we has tO make the jump all way to salmon. Anyways being twelve hours away I am just looking for a guess, so I can start planning a trip close to when it has been good in the past!

first week of July. 4-7. but like others have said watch the counts and watch IDFG's site for catch and fishery returns. Those numbers can drastically change in a day though so don't wait too long.
