Son's First Trout

This is a picture taken of me and my second son with his first trout which went about 14 inches. He cast, hooked it, and reeled it in all entirely by himself. This was last September - he was five years old at the time.

He caught a second trout that evening which was just an inch or so smaller.

The third (and smallest) trout caught that evening was caught by my oldest son (he's 9).

The thing that made it most special was that their grandfather, my dad, was there to share these moments with them.

Those are the best experiences; time spent with family. What a great post. I still remember catching my first first fish about 30 years ago. I was fishing with my dad at Blacksmith Fork.
