I'm a bit slow...this was from 3rd season in Colorado!
Words will never express how proud I was of Dylan this past week. We hunted hard everyday and he never complained one time. We battled cold and a lot off snow when we first got their but then it warmed up and turned muddy. On Wednesday night he harvested his first elk and I am not ashamed to admit I balled my eyes out. He made a great shot from 130 yards and she went down 75 yards later down the hill. The pack out was not too bad and he did really well caring the quarter out(football has made him stronger). Could not have got her out the bottom of the hill without the help of Shawnee aka Trigger Guard. She was a great help and I am so proud the weight she carried up the hill and back to the truck. She will get hers soon. The whole week was a great time with great food ( thanks Trigger Guard) and great company.
