I ain't no Tree Hugger or Nothin but this makes you wonder?

This Japanese Ship slowly Drifts nearby Alaska!

Guess it's been at Sea since the Japanese Tsami?

Driftin around going anywhere it goes!

Coast Guard decided to Shoot it & Sink it!

A couple things cross my mind:

Don't you think they shoulda removed all Fuel & Oil before Sinking it?

And,with todays Metal Prices ain't there somebody somewhere that could have Scrapped the Metal out?

If Joe Blow contaminates any kind of water his Asss is in Deep Doo-Doo,but I guess it's alright if the Coast Guard Polutes Waters?

I know it was a Safety Hazard,No Doubt a bout that!

Whatya think?

In the report I read, USCG took a look at how the ship sat in the water and, given the tsunami effects, they assumed it had already leaked the fuel away.

With respect to scrap value, it was too dangerous to bring back for scrap.

The ship was already decontaminated in Japan before the Tsunami hit...it was going to the scrap yard.....back when I was in the USCG you could of claimed salvage rights on it on the high seas...nobody found it first except the gov. satellite....does that splain your question???

A complany claimed it but couldn't manage to tow it to shore and thats when the naval ship launched its big guns.

More diesel is spilled in City Creek each year than is contained in that whole ship!

It was empty Bess - kind of like shooting your Dodge after a long drive in the country!
