Great pics again Steve. I managed to make it out again today. I spent most of the day covering ground with 2" of fresh snow on it :(. By the time i was making my way back to the truck most of the snow had melted so I slowed down a bit and took my time looking. I spotted some deer, so i angled uphill to avoid them. While sidehilling i looked up and saw a shed, so i went up to it and grabbed it....Its another one from that big 3 point! I have no idea when it is from, i originally thought 03. But when i got home i grabbed the 03 shed and its the same side as this one. This shed is faded and white on the one side and has a little color left on the backside and has 4 points. It was also out on an open south facing slope so it would fade alot faster.

I'll post pics when i get my cord for my camera.

Matt

Matt,
Awesome! I can't wait to see the pics. You have what 3 or 4 years off that buck now? How heavy is that shed?
It has been warm and sunny here all day. Been getting my Honey Do's complete so I can go out and play tommorrow. :)

Im not sure how many years we have off him now. This shed has me really confused! Its the 8th shed we have off of him. The one i picked up today has 4 points, every other shed we have from him off the same side has only 3. While i have sheds off the other side that have 4 points as well. So i really have no idea whats going on??? The shed could very well even be from last year, but its so hard to tell!

Here are the pics of that shed as well as a bunch of the others from the last few outings.

This shed is really massive, just too old. Too bad i didnt find it 10+ years ago, it would have been a keeper!

LAST EDITED ON Apr-22-06 AT 10:14PM (MST)[p]Matt,
That is a SWEET SHED!!! You didn't find him last year did ya? I betcha he came back in and you didn't even know it. What's that shed score?

We never did find his sheds last year. Im not sure if he wouldve put on a 4th point though in his old age. But i also cant see this shed being more than 2-3 years old, so its so hard to say. This shed was found a lot lower than all of the other ones. But it seemed that the older he got the lower he started to winter, so it could be from last year.

Cool Pics guys! Nothing like a little northern action. I think you guys need to spend some time in the woods doing a little depredation action on the local squirrels though.

Nice sheds and pics guys. Hey BC, did you get to keep that skull, or do you have to leave them lay?

Nice Badlands pack. I have one that looks just like it. Great for packing quarters, or in your case bone.

That is a cool pack Matt. Nice finds! Is it just the way the pack was laying or is that a huge old shed sitting on it?

nice pics and nice 'finds'....both you guys....thanks for sharin'em with us heathens...

Matt, so I take steve to one of "my" hidey holes and the bastard finds more sheds than I. Sorta expected it but pisses me off all the same.Good pics all in all.Andy

Yea, Thats crazy Andy! Looks like you are gonna have to start pounding the hills a little more! When are we gonna see a pic of your 180" shed?

Tuff- That is a fairly big 6 point still on the pack. Not overly large though, that 4 point is bigger than it. The shed on the pack would likely go somewhere around 70-75".

It's tuff to find any sheds around this darn province that are not all chewed up. This could have been a dandy but the rodents got to it first. I was supposed to be bear hunting, but noticing that all those small fir trees were getting chewed on I figured I better take a quick look around for sheds.

Matt I haven't have'nt had the success you guy's have been having. Just mostly oldies.

Hopefully I can get out more in May. I'd like to pick up a few "unchewed" brownies before the Devil's Club starts coming in.

Plus I've been threatening to build a treestand in the area of the picture. I'm the only person that is in there.

Are you heading to Prince George to work this summer?

I had a meeting on Friday with a lady from UNBC. Turns out it will work out best if i head up to PG in december. So i will be in Kamloops for summer and then back in school at TRU for the fall. Then i will head up to PG. Should be a good time up there, tons of country to look for sheds in that hasnt even been touched by other people! Im really looking forward to it.

Tuffer,
Nice lookin' shed there, but it's a good thing you didn't make a bet with me on who would find the biggest sheds this year eh? :) :) We still on for Biggest Bruin? I haven't bought a tag yet, I normally don't get excited about killin' one until the 1st couple of weeks of May. I figure I'll let all those HS boys shoot those 6 foot dinks and then I'll hammer that 8 foot monster that I've got tied up and have them all speechless yet again. :) :)

Dana I resemble that remark

No tags yet??! You're crazy dude! I usually have my blackie tag by April 2nd. This year I picked up a Coog tag as well.

We're still on for sure with the Bear Bet, Eh! I'm waiting for the mountains to melt off before getting too serious about finding a Blackie rollin on DUBs (20 incher).

I'm glad not to have made any shed bets! I ain't done looking yet though. The farther I get into that Devil's Club, Cedar, and chewed up fir trees the better it gets.

Muskwa,
You want in on our Bruin bet? Tuffer wants to buy me a subscription to Muley Crazy. He got lucky in the fall when I passed on numerous bucks that he'd only dream of seeing, yet alone killin', in my search for MassNTrash. Since we both were skunked, we ended up extending the bet into bear season. Ifn' you want in too, I could use a Eastmans subscription ifn you feel like donating. :) :)
