I keep hearing that shed findin season is done--- here is proof that it isn't for my hiking buddy and I

Found these as I was following this grouse around in the timber trying to get a good picture of him strutting his stuff

Great looking sheds. There is a little too much grass in my neck of the woods. Guess i'll have to wait until the cows and sheep turn it back into a dust bowl.

Here are a pair of lefties that we thought were a set till we held them up--- only 50' apart

They weigh over 10# each

Then my hiking buddy found this 12# 30" whale tail 5pt

Great collection of bone and some beautiful scenery pics as well, thank you for sharing!

Hey Wyo,
Great pictures, I was wondering what you use for treking poles. I thinking of getting some to take some pressure off the knees on those steep downhills with a pack full of horn. Seems like you are a pretty big fan of these poles and you've obviously been shed hunting for quite a while so I think I'll learn from your experience and give them a try. Got any recomendations? Thanks

shedhound I just carry a homemade ChokeCherry walking stick to knock sticks and webs out of my way and to thump on logs and rocks to make noise so we don't surprise brother bear. The stick does help with balance too. My hiking buddy uses two treking poles all the time and swears it helps with the ups and downs a lot. I try all the time to buy her some fancy high priced ones but she just duct tapes the Walmart special on sale ones together and keeps on hiking! We have hiked over 200 miles so far this year--works for us.
