Some elk horns

Here is a horn that my step-dad found on sunday, it has a lot of character.

How about Oak Creek or Joe Watt did anyone have any luck yesterday? Is so please show us. Here is what my step-dad found.

Small but atleast he found some.

What is the main bean length on that elk shed.

Okie, the main beams are not very big, 49" is about all you can get out of it.

Cauch, the horns in the back ground are the little ones in the last picture.

I hiked all day at Joe Watt. Found a two-point deer antler. No elk sheds. Thought it would be easier cause there was so much snow this year and the elk should have been concentrated on those east facing ridges. Not as many people at the gate opening as at the last three years. Didn't see anyone driving their ATV's off road. No horse riders either. Really thought I would find something. I guess I found all the spots where there weren't antlers. Or the locals hauled them off before the opener.

Still some elk around.

As you can see from the tree tops in the background, it was a very windy day.

The antler I found. Pretty good shape.

The Joe Watt opener has never been an antler fest for me, but I just can't miss it. It's kind of a tradition I follow on May 1.

You two should swap horns or something to make a set. JD--- You didnt tell me he found a sweet horn like that!!! That dude is aweomse tell him good work and im jealous.
