Smith and Wesson 10x40 Binoculars

Somebody on this board referred me to these several years back and I bought a pair. They have been great for the price (I think I paid about $250 back then). Very clear/bright optics.

My questions are:

1) does anybody know if the current S&W 10x40 is the same quality as the older set I have? By the same quality I mean same quality of glass, etc.

2) The price I am seeing on the web for the S&W 10x40 is $360 + or -. My quick search shows nobody has any in stock. What is another brand and model of 10x40 in this price range that has as good of glass as the S&W?

3) Does anybody know who the manufacturer is of the S&W? Maybe they are packaged by somebody else (e.g., Bushnell)
