Small bore rifle competition

Wondering if any of you could recommend a good 22 for small bore rifle competitions. I was thinking about an Anschultz 54 with 26" barrel, but spendy and hard to find. Any thoughts?

Check out the SAVAGE ARMS WEB SITE. Their Mark II"s may be your answer.

There is some ski bums around here doing Biathlon. I worked with
one on his shooting. I was shocked and awed. Another local guy
has his boy and girl shooting them. They are scoring regular 50's sitting and prone. Mid 40's sitting and off hand. I am saying it is worth a look.

Any one out there with kids in a club shooting 50 year old comp guns should check out the Savage line.

had not even thought about the Mark ii. Reading about it that may be a slick option. Thanks

archer, I am not a Savage sales guy. This kid came to me, he is a hell of a skier. Not much of a shooter. This is the only gun he has ever bought. Asked me to site it in. I took it home and it brought back memories of the old Pee wee gun club days from 40 years ago. A target rim fire with good peep....I might have put a few more rounds through it then I needed to! If I wasn't way over armed I would own one.
