Simplify the expression

If you need to use google, wiki, or any other website to teach you math, by all means go right ahead...just simplify the following expression by combining like terms...hopefully this one will clear up Eel's thread cuz the damn answer to his is TWO!!

2a(a-5)+4(a-5) =

4 points on the right and 4 points on the left = 4x4 Western count, eyeguards not included.

4 points on the right and 4 points on the left = 10 point Eastern count, with eyeguards added.

2a(a-5)+4(a-5)=0
2a^2-10a+4a-20=0
2a^2-6a-20=0 can either solve by quadratic equation or by factoring....in this case factoring is simpler
2(a^2-3a-10)=0
2(a-5)(a+2)=0
a=5,-2
