Simmons 44 MAG ?

Are the simmons 44 MAG scopes any good ? I just purchased an early model in 6-20X44 and plan on trying it on my 243 win. for antelope and varmints.These are a discontinued model ,the one I bought is still new in the box.
ARE THEY ANY GOOD ?

I have a few of them on various guns in my safe. In fact, I have shot my smallest group with a Simmons 44 Mag. While the mechanical ability of the scopes have been outstanding the optical quality has left a little to be desired. They do have dark glass in them. Shooting mid day with a varmint gun this is not a big deal. For popping ground hogs and prarie poodles, they will suffice. For a low light target identification, they are not that great. The other complaint is the crosshairs are a little large for a varmint scope.
