Shirley mountains access

I'm having a hard time getting back ahold of the biologist for this unit. My question is ; are the access roads/ trail roads that cross a short piece of private okay to drive on /across? We were in there a couple weeks ago and did drive across some private but my hunting partner was pretty leery and thought we were trespassing. If thats the case, most of the unit is off limits with vehicles. There were some markers with blue arrows on them here and there, and I thought they were BLM markers possibly. Saw a lot of bulls but not many cows which surprised me too. Any help with this access thing until I get back ahold of Will would be greatly appreciated.

If you are not sure then assume they are off limits and closed. That area does have really tricky access. Unless signed specifically as open to public, or numbered and labelled as a county road, assume it is private.

I always go to the BLM/Forrest Service offices and speak with them for a good idea of what roads are open to public and which ones are not.

Some roads are public, some lose the easement when they hit the Q's property.

I was there last year and will be there the last week of sept/1st of Oct this year.

I would call Q Creek and ask about the specific roads.

What are those little trail marker signs with either blue or white arrows? Look like BLM signs. Wouldn't think they would be in there if you can't access it

It sounds like it is BLM access with the Blue and White markers to me. I would check with BLM to see what they say. In many of these situations, the landowner would have a gate of some sort or at least a sign that says no public access. Sometimes you can find the public roads on county's website. Is this Carbon county?

Thanks nripepi. I think the road we need looks like one on that carbon county road map.
