I had the bottom half of that busted elk antler, but I sold it to the antler buyer. Sorry, it would have been neat to put it back together again.

hahaha. how do you know if its from the same elk?? where did you find this elk shed?

You caught me. It's probably not the same elk. I spotted a broken bottom half from a pretty big bull a couple of years ago on the Monroe unit in Utah. I guided a shed hunting buddy into it with my radio, and when he got to it he told me it was just a stick. I told him to hold it up so I could see it, but he said "No, I'm not going to hold up a stick for you". I was nearly a mile away, but I told him to just leave it there and I would go get it. I guess that conviced him that it was an antler, so he went ahead and picked it up and showed me. It had great mass and pretty good tine length and probably came from a 360-370 class bull. I wonder if he won the fight?

o haha. that would of been a really nice shed if it was the whole antler. I found it in utah to but not by monroe or however you spell it! isnt monroe down by richfield, marysville, and junction??

Yes, but most of the bulls drop their sheds on the East side of the unit. I guess it's not as cold in the winter on that side.

Ya i was wondering that because i went to go find some elk sheds down by there but never found any!!! that is my favorite place down there. we were going to move there but my parents decided not to!
