Decided to try a spot lower that the deer have moved away from and took a pair of Pentax DCF 10x40 and a Pair of Vortex 10x40 to see how they do.
Slim pickings but I found a couple small browns and some whites not pictured.
I am doing my own test to see which of these binos is better since I refuse to buy $1700 binoculars since they would be ruined within a year or two the way I abuse them.
Not going to base my decision on one day in the field so this will be on going for a few months and I will let you know what I think then.
Best,
Jerry

How do you burn through a pair of glasses in a year? I finally bought a pair of sworov. 10 x 50 and I found that the more money you spend the better you take care of them. Don't get me wrong they are still draped around my neck or in the saddle bags getting used, It becomes second nature too put the lens caps on everytime I lower my glasses. One of the best investments I ever made.

BreederBuck-
My Brunton's lasted and still are usable but the dings and scratches have added up over the years. They lasted 4-5 years.
I do an incredible amount of hiking in all terrains and sleeping out of doors in a bivy tent at times.
Over the years no matter how careful you are scratches do add up on the glass you use....Besides I rather enjoy the outdoors and not miss anything rather than babysit and worry about protecting $1700 hanging around my neck.
To some that is not alot of money but to me it is and I can use the extra cash towards a good spotting scope that I do have time to put away without doing it any damage.
Besides these are still decent glass and quite usable.
Just my opinion.
Best,
Jerry
