shed hunting dogs?

I have a year old female yellow lab, and i was wondering if you guys had any tips for teaching them to find horns? I have always though it was cool that guys can teach there dogs to find sheds, and i wanted to give it a try!

If I had a pup I wouldn't let it play with anything BUT antlers. That way I could take it to the hills and tell it to "find your toy" and wha-la I'd have a new shed! Just my thoughts.

My brothers girlfriend got a white lub puppy and she never taught it how to find sheds! She just had so many sheds in her room her puppy just would play with them and then learned the smell of them and what they look like. She took the pup out shed hunting with her, and the first time her puppy found a shed, picked it up and ran over to her with it in its mouth. Thats just how The pup learned. from just having them around all the time.

Surround him with horns, and only let him play with only horns, and when you play fetch use horns, hide the horns in the house and have him sniff em out. I tell my dog "where's the horns sage?" and off he goes and comes back with horns. Couldnt be happier!
