shed hunting axioms

Just a few observations from my years of sheddin' (feel free to add yours)....

1. You only find antlers one place..... anywhere an elk or deer can walk.
2. You always find the heaviest antler at the farthest point from where you started hiking.
3. They (meaning other shed hunters) can't find them all.

Spanked Ya Dear!!---what my wife tells me after about 5 hours of horseback riding and I've got one dink forked horn and she has about a dozen mossbacks hanging from her saddle horn.

The best horn cover is always that which you hurried thru to get to "the good stuff". You find this out when returning and finding the wife on the tailgate rattling a huge matched set she found 200 yards from the truck while you were on top of the mountain finding nothing.

in shed country looking or walking one place is a good as any other. i love taking my buddies out and they spend the day searching for that "one spot" instead of antlers.

1. The best place to find shed antlers is right where the animal was when his antlers fell off.

2. Keep looking. You won't find many antlers if your not looking for them.

3. The most productive antler hunting can be done on eBay. Save your gas money and just buy the one you want.

When a horn is spotted, the hunter is required to run to the antler as hard as he or she can screaming " HORN MINE" even when no one is around.

1) My friend wouldn't try to find a shortcut finding his own areas by sneaking to mine.
2) There can't be any left in that area since the four wheelers have already been there.
3) I have searched that area 20 times and cannot find the match it must have been picked up.....Then next year you find it within 50 yards of where the other was laying

after i picked up 300 white antlers every year for three years staight the white ones must be gone by now. this year it should be all brown.
well i'm at 72 white this year and 4 brown. i must be blind
