Just read in our paper this morning (yakima) a married couple from lewis county walked in behind the gates at oak creek (April 12th)and someone turned them in cause there car was parked at the gate and gamies waited all day for em to get back and gave them a crimination citation and $500 dollars bail and seized there 11 antlers for evidence.

That news is good news. I wonder how many get away with it. I guess I know cause I wait for the opener and spend all day looking and find no sheds. I suspect some people stash the antlers and haul them out when it's legal. Be nice if the gamies scattered the antlers out on the range, but I guess they need the evidence.

I know that the Oak Creek folks have had more troubled this year than any other. I've heard that there were folks jumping the fence trying to get a single shed while the elk were still on the site. Makes me sick to think that people have no regards for policies or laws. I wonder how many have gotten into the other sites ie. Nile, where there is a lot less eyes on it. Good luck to all who are doing it fair on the 1st.

Glad they caught one of them.

Good News Kirk. I missed it. 11 bones. I guess that will be eleven antlers they won't find with their flashlights opening morn. The bulls sure shed them low this year compared to last couple. I went for a drive up the Naches yesterday and saw a bunch right on the front of the river still, not far past the junction. I was sitting on a huge bull up in the clockum, but some horse back guys either pusdhed him or found his bones the one day I didn't go in.

in easter oregon ther was 10 poachers busted for taking cow elk during a spike season.turned out they had gotten away with poaching mountain goat, deer, antelope, loning tags. even got busted in idaho for taking bull elk out of seasons.hunting with suspended liceans. they were killing all the big bucks and elk and cutting the horns off. they were big time horn hunters. good to get the cheaters out of hear.

I am glad these guys got busted. It tells me these guys had no respect for the game laws or the environment in which they were doing this illegal act. It is just too bad that they killed so many wild game before they caught. It is good thing that they are no longer in the woods.
