Seriously?

You realize this is real, right?

It goes to the Supreme Court next year as Free Speech Coalition, Inc. v. Paxton (Paxton is the Texas Attorney General).

So far, 19 states have passed these laws, all of them Republican. That's the point of the video.

The question is whether it is legal for the government to require an individual to provide private/sensitive information to a private company for that individual to exercise their Free Speech rights of consuming otherwise-legal adult content.

Essentially, they're saying it would be illegal to force somebody to register to exercise other Free Speech rights, so this should be protected too.

PS. The Supreme Court has held adult content is protected other than child pornography.

Yup, I just thought the ad was way over the top. I don't know how they can expect to regulate subadults or anyone from accessing porn. Not in favor of anyone being required to surrender private info. to a private outfit. Also not in favor of the gov't sucking up all our data, e-mails, phone calls, texts etc.
Same deal with TikTok. Kids will find a way

They do. It's part of the current GOP's "small government (as long as you share their ideals of morality and agree that they should be government mandated so that you have to obey them)" platform
