My hiking buddy "my wife" and I spent 4 days hiking from shed antler to antler listening to the elk bugle in Yellowstone Park last week, here is some of what we found.

It's hard to walk away from bone like these, but where else can you find 50 sheds in one hour!!!

It's way illegal to take them! The law says even transporting bone is a no no We just look and take pics

Hey thats awesome! Even though you can't take them that would still be way fun. So, since you can't take em would you be willing to say were you found them? I would love to do the same. Please send me a pm.

nice, just a month ago i went to yellwostone in the lamar vally, in half a day my buddy and i found 200 sheds a peice, it was tough to see horns go to waste like that.sometimes you would find 10 sheds with in a 20 yard area.

It's facinating to see where those bulls winter and where they shed. It will make you a better shed finder to study the wheres and the whys of the bone you find there. We have found the same bulls sheds from several years on the same ridge. My wife calls me her pack mule. I love walking away from hundreds of pounds of bone I don't have to haul back to the truck!!!I will admit that it hurts to leave some of the big sets to rot. But I thank GOD there is a place where you can see the elk where they can be where they want to be doing what they want to do.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-26-06 AT 08:13AM (MST)[p]Thats gotta be 100 times worse than going to a go-go bar. Look but don't touch!!!!!!!!!!

I could not put myself through that, they would find me hugging the antler and sobbing.

Awesome pics.
