LAST EDITED ON May-04-11 AT 09:06AM (MST)[p]I'm looking to sell out my sheds for the year. Is anyone around South Utah county interested?

I will be down this weekend or next weekend buying. How much do you Have? We are pay 7/lb brown elk, 4 on the hardwhite and 2 on the chalk deer is 5-7/lb on brown/ 3 on white 1 on chalk.

Thanks Scott

You can come and get them. I will be gone until Saturday night picking more elk up, so Sunday or next week would be best. If you do come this this weekend let me know and I can arrange something. I have close to a 100-150 deer and a hand full of elk. I left you a voicemail yesterday.

Perfect I will be down next weekend and we will stop and get yours. Thanks

Hey Scott is that a flat price or are there deductions for broken points--if so how much is deducted and how much of the point has to be missing?

Thanks

Thanks Scott.

What is your schedule for the next couple of weeks?

I have decided this is the year (good or bad). I have a FEW horns to get rid of.

What about larger Brown/hard white Deer--75"-85"?

Thanks again--just want to make sure I do not waste someone's time--mine!!!

I have been selling my sheds to a guy in Northern Utah, but I know he travels to Southern Utah quite a bit buying. I have been happy with the prices he has given me and is a heck of a nice guy. Give him a call, Sliverslinger400

Thanks a ton. Just trying to find the best guy to haul them away. I think I have about 1,300 deer and a few elk. Like selling my kids--Just does not make sense to to keep them anymore. At some point you have to kick them out--of course keeping the ones that have memories.

hey there is a guy in cache valley that will give you a lot better price than steve sorenson and he is a lot better guy. give me your number and i will have him call ya. he will travel to you too

LAST EDITED ON May-10-11 AT 02:44PM (MST)[p]Hey mountainman365 you must mean the other Steve up in cache-the one thats the?toughest grader in the?industry. Steve Sorenson beats his prices, pays cash on the spot, and blows his grading away. I've had a few buddies get screwed over the years by unfair graders. My advice to anyone, including myself, is to shop around, get current prices, and check personal references on buyers grading reputation. All the best.

Hey Silver that number for Steve is disconnected--you got a current one?

By the way thanks for taking the time to help out. I have never sold any horns so I am kind of a novice. Just trying to get rid of some extra baggage--kids, wife, horns..you know.

Thanks!

Sorry Brother, my bad-my fingers are too fat for my phone! The number is
435 245 3497.

I hear you on the whole selling part...I only sell a few times a year and I work dang hard for the ones I find-all public land and most of the antler I find is from animals I have watched all year and in many cases year after year. The money I do get when I sell represents a portion of what I have invested and more importantly, my time away from my family. Happy to help a fellow shed head. Best of luck!

Thanks again.

I have not sold because I did not want to be apart of the $$$ craze. I still do not---but as you mentioned you have to pay for those $2,000+ gas bills a year. I hate to go by myself and really enjoy seeing the younger generation get "stoked" on finding a horn. Heck I have seen some grown guys that find their first brown horn go nuts and they are just small 3pts!!! Very very cool.

But I would not trade the time I get to spend with my son alone and away from school, siblings, Xbox's and friend for anything!!! It has also been a way to keep my 69 year old father out and getting some exercise. I hope he is able to reach the age of my 94 year old Grandmother and 96 year old Grandfather!!

Anyway thanks again for all those that lend a hand to us that are seeking information and friendship on these sites!

That's what's it's all about right there! My oldest is 5 and he hides some of my chalk horn around our tiny back yard so he and our 2 year old can"practice". I can't wait to take him on some of the big trips, hopefully next year. :)

My son Hunter started when he was 5. Of course he found ones that were planted, but my father would take him on just short walks while I head steep and deep.

WOW papa bear, I cant believe you are gonna do it. Just let me know when you're gonna sell that big good looking single. One of the best looking horns I've ever seen.

It pains me, but I have to be practical and having all those horns are not doing anyone anygood.

I will not be selling anything with memories and that has a few memories, but if I ever do----you on the list.

Well, with the fire you've started under Hunter, and the rate you pick em up, it will be no time ate all before there is another pile. I've heard of a few, but have never seen a more impressive pile. I'd love to hear what the final poundage is.

Yelum

Well coming from you that is a compliment for sure!

I think the pile is only 4 years worth, but it is time to move on. I am not sure what my plan ever was for that many.

Hunter is for sure starting to really do well. I still catch him missing some as he starts to daydream when it is slow, but he can walk and has the eye that is for sure. It was nice because on a couple of DRIVES he (thanks to Darrel giving up the spot)got into the right grove and was picking up shed after shed. He was happy and I was up on the hill, so it was fun to watch him from another advantage point. It is even fun to see the old guys get excited when they find some horn!!!!

I am planning on doing some pictures and counts just so I have the information---it will be nice to see that is for sure.

I will shoot you the pictures once they are laid out or whatever.

Take care!

hey man shoot them over to me i would like to see this pile too or maybe i should just come see it before it is gone!

It is funny you say that because a couple of years ago when I was moving, I had this one decent brown horn out in my Big pile and whenever I was in the area I always hit it looking for the other side.

As I am putting the horns out of the pile and into the truck, I notice one that looks kind of familiar --I grab it and run upstairs to the BIG pile and sure enough I had the match. I even remember that I found the brown one year and went back with Browtine and told him I had to hit this one little area--we hit it and I only found on hard white decent horn up on the hill in the wide open. It turned out that it was that horn and it was less than a 100 yards from the brown I found. It was the only buck I saw bounce over the side and when he came out he was a doe. I was scouting at the time so I just backtracked and found the horn and waited till a couple of months later and of course never found the other side till the next year.

Anyway I am sure there is more and previous years for sure.

Oh well
