Has anybody been scouting a deer, elk, or otherwise and witnessed the shedding of the antlers as it "went down."

And I searched on the web, but does anybody have video of it as it happened.

Kind of like, does a bear.....???

LAST EDITED ON Apr-22-09 AT 04:13PM (MST)[p]I have been hunting sheds for awhile and i finally seen it happen this year. I was lucky enough to watch a deer shed one side and an elk shed both sides.

I wish i had video of it but i don't

I think one of the magnum muleys videos has goliath shedding both sides on different days. What are the chances?

WARBIRDUM filmed a buck shed both sides a few years ago. I think he retired from what got selling the video to Eastmans. :)Yelum

There is one of the Eastmans videos that shows a 180 class 4 point sheding both horns at the same time, the deer turned to run and they both poped off on the first or second jump. I cant remember what video it was.

I watched two bucks sparing a couple years ago and one of them lost a horn cause of it.

And this year there was a little 2 point with one side in the road and when we got up to him he ran off and tried to jump through the top and second wires on a fence and he poped off his remaing horn.

Thats the only 2 times I have seen it in 8 years of being out looking.

Several years ago, in a heavy spring snowstorm, a forky ran right in front of my headlights, and something fell from its back. I stopped my car, went back with a flashlight and found the antler right in the middle of the road! Only time in over 20 yrs. in the hills it has happened!

LAST EDITED ON Apr-24-09 AT 02:31PM (MST)[p]I watched a 3 point deer toss one a few months ago through my spotting scope and picked it up the next day, pretty crazy. He was bobbing his head around and trying to kick at it with his back leg and he finally gave a hard 'bob' and it fell off. It scared the piss out of him and he ran for over a half mile.
