I am new to Utah, actually will be moving there in 3 weeks. I won't be able to take advantage of the resident tags this year and don't want to pay nonresident fees. I was hoping to spend this summer/fall scouting areas where there is good public access and going the extra mile back in pays off...for elk and muleys. I mostly do bow hunting and gun hunt when all else fails. Can anyone offer any recommendations? I am not asking for honey holes by any means, but just a direction to get started for next year.
Thanks!
Joe

Lone peak is right in your back yard. Theres some nice high country there but thats more then a few miles in. Central unit has alot of public land. Plenty of land to cover.

Thanks for the heads up. I will keep those in mind this summer/fall. I am really excited to get back to the west and the mountains.
