Looking at him real close, I'd have to say he is sneaky long on those tops. Even tho he doesn't have massive bases or prongs, I think he would crowd the 78-80" gross mark. Definately a muzzleloader buck of a lifetime.
The hunter just got the buck back from the taxidermist. He and I went throught the measurement process carefully and came up with 75 6/8ths on the mount. The hunter just took the head to the taxidermist and did not keep the horns in a cool place during the drying period. I guessed him in the the higher 70's when I first started looking at the picture. No matter what, guessing an antelopes score is certainly an art as you can see by the numbers posted....
