I am posting this here for one of my college classes UNIV-4925.
For the class I had to complete an edge project. The project I choose to undertake was to volunteer 45 hours to the dedicated hunter program here in southern Utah. The projects I had the privilege to help with took place south of Beaver, west of Panguitch, and along I-15 from hurricane to the north end of Beaver. The projects around beaver consisted of a pinion and juniper thinning where we used loppers to cut down the new trees that were growing in the newer chaining?s and using a chain saw to cut down the bigger trees in some of the older chaining?s. Then I helped in replanting some bitterbrush and other vegetation in a recent burn just north of Parowan where a lot of deer winter. Over in Panguitch we did another pinion and juniper thinning. Then we repaired deer ramps from Hurricane to Beaver on I-15. This was a great experience for me to help with and see what the DNR is doing to help our wildlife survive and they were excellent to work with.
