I have been using scent sprays and I know I am using them properly, however, I am still being winded as evidenced by the snorting and bounding hoofs of a fleeing deer. I believe they work but only to an extent. Any suggestion on products and how to use them would be appreciated. I would also like opinions on the scent free clothing. Is it better than the sprays. Pleas advise me. In addition, what do you think about cover scents like sage. I personally think it alerts the deer to your presence, because the smell is so intense that the deer can tell its not normal to smell sage with so much intensity. My theory on smell is that any odor that a deer smells that is different than what they smell on a daily basis in the forest is danger. In short, any odor, that they can't associate with is danger.

thank you

You could be right. There was a post on the general forum not too long ago called cover scent vs dogs nose (or something like that). There where quite a few replies. You might check it out. You could also probably do a search and find several other posts about this. Good luck.

I think the bottom line is that you need to hunt the wind... You can cover but not hide the human smells... I would think that they could pick something out that is unnatural.
