San Juan???

Ive never been there but we are heading down there this coming week. We will be camping near Duck Lake.
My Question is how is the cell service there? I have a wife that is very pregnant and I'll need to check in once a day. Is this a possibility in that area?

cell is spotty, but you can get it. a bit north of duck lake is a horse coral off to the west side, that is where I camped and good get cell service.

really depends on who your carrier is. If its Verision there are actually several places you can call out, get text etc. If its ATT, Allwest, union wireless (heaven forbid) you might have to climb to the top of the mountain.

I have sprint. I can usually get better reception than my buddies with Verizon and AT&T. Thanks again.

I know one year the only way to get cell service was to stand on the trailer. LOL

LAST EDITED ON Jun-22-12 AT 12:48PM (MST)[p]I know Verizon has great service all along the east side of of Elk Ridge from Duck Lake down past Butts Point and out to the dugway east of Milk Ranch Point.

The North side west past Monticello Res is sketchy. If you're on the south side of the Abajo Peak or by the Rock Pile it's also good.

Not sure about sprint but yes there are several pretty good places to get reception if you roam on verizons network
