Same sheds?

Found a good set on Monday. Brought them home and compared them to a set I found almost one year before about 1/2 mile away. I know what I think but I want to hear from ya'll whether you think this is two years from the same bull or not. The 2008 set is on the outside...2007 set inside. Bases on the 2008 set are substantially bigger but overall length is only slighty bigger. Extra points on the left side are from this years set but are only stickers...Waddaya think?

Congrats on the find..

I would say different bull. One thing thats different is all the curves on the swords and fifths.. Also the burr doesnt look the same.

I would say a different bull. the royals don't curve and the main beam doesn't have that curl in it. which means you get to keep looking for 2 more pairs. "like finding a needle in a sage flat"

LAST EDITED ON Mar-29-08 AT 11:59AM (MST)[p]Im going to have to say its a different bull. The inside set has a little more length on its 3rds, 4ths, and 5ths. Also another thing i notice with sheds.... they usually have the same color of antlers then they had the year before. Those sheds have 2 different colors.

I am going to agree with different bull, wich is good news. That means there is more bone out there for you. Good luck........

HEY toughshed!!!

THATS A DIFFERENT BULL!!!

YOU KNOW BETTER!!!

I THINK YOU'RE TRYING TO STIR IT???

I COULD TELL YOU WE DON'T WANNA SEE ANYMORE SUB-400" SHEDS!!!

BUT I WON'T!!!

NICE BONE!!!

IS IT THAT HARD TO SAY???

THE ONLY bobcat THAT KNOWS ALOT OF YOU HAVE HAD THIS IMAGE IN YOUR PEA BRAIN BUT DUE TO POOR SHOOTING TACTICS I'M STILL KICKIN!!!

The buttons do get a little bigger each year but the location of blood veins and the general shape won't change unless they get damaged, but you know that. There are enough similarities to make you wonder, if the only difference is the size of the buttons they could be from the same bull.

Hey boobcat...why don't you quit yelling at me?

Majority says different bull and I'll learn from that.

I do have some nice bone. Looking for more.

Now quit yelling and we can talk.

WELL!!!

I'M NOT YELLING!!!

JUST SUGGESTING IF THEY WERE FROM THE SAME BULL YOU'D PROBABLY SEE MORE SIMILARATIES!!!

Thanks for the input everyone. It's hard to see but both sets have a "devil tine" bump in exactly the same spot and exactly the same size. The buttons are ALOT bigger on this years set but I agree that there are some significant differences up top. Lower half is very similar in shape, bend and character only 2008 is bigger.

One questions about the top part of the antler. If the bull is growing larger each year or even growing smaller as he ages beyond his prime, why wouldn't one expect the top portion of the antler to change? In fact, it has to change for the bull to gain size. Just a thought. Can't say I've ever had this dilema before...

Somewhere a 5th grade class is missing their class tard....lol. Nice looking sheds. I need to see them and hold them to tell for sure if they are the same bull so drive or ship them on over and i will give my opinion then.

Its hard to say without looking at them in person. They certainly do look like the same bull to me though as the browtines and bez points are all at the same angle. Vein holes in the bur are a good way to figure out if those are from the same bull as well.

My guess is same bull. It looks like he just topped the hill of his prime and is on the road to retirement.

I will take that bet BCB. I will bet a 12 pack of choice that those are the same bull...but I get to be the one to make the final decision. :)

Another thing that really stands out to me is the distance between the first and second points on each year.. they are not the same space. I could be totaly wrong.. Its just a guess on my part.. Here are three years of the same bull. Notice they stay the exact same from top to bottom...

ORhornhog are you tryin' to start some trouble over here on MM.
You know your causing a lot of trouble on the "Tines up" site.
Ha, just kiddin'.

Thanks brow...those do look very much the same...however at the top, there seems to be minor differences. Still, for three years those are looking very much the same. Thanks for the post and nice sheds. :)

I would say different Bulls but same genetic pool somewhere down the line they have the same genes( Same Father or Mother) in their gene pool.

everbrownshed They are all the same That is like saying all Chinese look alike WOW I have never heard anything like that before.

These look alike because all three years came off the same head
