Salt Lake/East Canyon antlerless moose

My 16-year-old son drew this tag and is quite excited about the hunt. We live fairly close so we'll have opportunities to check it out before the hunt. I know much of the area is private.

Any specific tips from people who have had this tag in the past? We'll probably concentrate on the October dates, because he has another hunt that conflicts with the September dates.

Flint, you should have no problem with the public land on the Salt Lake side....that's my haunt, I'll keep in touch with what I see.....but Affleck Park is usually a given for mooshka, as is Alexander Creek.

Flint, unless you want to deal with 100 local Motorcycle "club" members such as the Barons and Mongols, I wouldn't suggest going to Affleck on the 4th.....but I would suggest perhaps hiking the Mormon Trail from the microwave towers! If you have a couple vehicles, you could even make a day of going from there to the monument on East Canyon Creek.
