Bess, that is a very cool Lure! I've never seen one before and it looks to have some age on it. Lure on card like that could bring good money

I think we talked mermaid lures before. I have one 70 years old that's still new in box, is "flyrod size". Most are bigger than that. There are guys that just specialize in lures with a mermaid theme. Most, like the ones below aren't worth too much collector value but only the specialist guys know which size or color variant is tougher to find and brings more money.

Here's one you might want to try. Newer but might be effective! :)

Hey Uncle sage!

Can You Imagine a Warden Checkin you wanting to know what you're Using & Pull that bottom Lure out of the water & Say:That's what I'm using!

LMAO!

If the Warden asks what you're using say "F You!"

And then reel it up and show him. :D:D:D

It's written in the good Book that we'll never be asked to take more than we can. Sounds like a good plan, so bring it on!

Hey NVB, who doesn't like nibblage?
I know I do!

Those are some of the coolest lures I've ever seen. Did guys ever actually fish/catch with them or did they just pet them when the fishing was poor?

Bess, yep, we used to do that with my handmade jigs. Catch our fish then tie my jigs on all our poles for show at the launch. My jigs worked, they caught fish... and people.

Zeke, Thanks! I had a passion for collecting old lures, spent a lot of my disposable income by purchasing them where i could find them. I had a guy come by last year, he was a picker, he took $900. worth home with him. He got some good stuff but nothing near what i still have. I love the old lures and i think i love the old boxes that the lures came in back then, even more. Sadly, vintage lures have gone down the Tank for a few years now. A good boxed combo that i might have paid $50. for, might now only bring $30. at auction. I still love my stuff but my thoughts were to make a bit of money investing on it while i got to play with the goods.

A Nice display that wouldn't cost too much to put together.

Another type of display, low end collectables here but still a nice display.

Misc boxed stuff, low end, still, stuff i like and have lots of.

These are earlier Heddon Lures. I have some of these but these are mostly higher end Baits, some costing hundreds of dollars. If you find a old tackle box full of these, you got something...

A guy can spend $5.00 for a boxed set or $5000. but they are all fun!

That's a great idea Bess!
Now I just need to get my hand on a couple of those lures. LMAO

Way cool old stuff, Sage!
I like stuff like that.
I've got some old firearm trade posters and a half dozen old bullet boards. It's all old, cool stuff.

Thanks for posting that Joey. Those are pretty interesting. A collection like that doesn't take up much room so a lot of people can take advantage of that. Neat hobby.

I inadvertently started collecting old shotgun shells back in the 1960's and somehow it grew and grew. I have a cedar chest about 1/2 full of old brass, and paper shells. Some full boxes. Nothing of any real value.

Something for my wife and daughter to deal with after I'm gone:)

Lures like that might just catch some one eyed trouser trout.
