Roy, how's the drought?

You get my vote for this week's best one-liner!

Though, from a vocabulary stand point, we pray for moisture, not rain.

Funny you should ask! Looks like it will be a difficult Turtle season here in Central Texas this summer.

Oficially they are saying that we are out of the "exceptional drought" category and that effectively the drought pattern itself is complete, and the El Ni?o pattern is pushing us towards "normal" levels, though we aren't there just yet. I can guarantee you though this year is not nearly as hot as it was 4 years ago! 2011 was ROUGH!

I will try to post a few pics later but for now, here is a good summary of the weather Austin has been experiencing over the last week:

My buddy down there in Greenville said they are letting water out the dams they are to full already.

This is a pretty cool map that shows the dramatic change over the last year. The yellow areas are "abnormally dry" and the beige areas are "moderate drought" - so, the state isn't completely out of the woods yet. But yeah, thanks for all the prayers!

Roy, thanks for the update. Too bad the turtles are so far spread out. Going to be tough, is right.

I'm always praying for my friend in Texas.

It's written in the good Book that we'll never be asked to take more than we can. Sounds like a good plan, so bring it on!
