Ring Adapter -- ST Axis

I've switched to Easton ST Axis shafts. The manufacture recommends using ring adapters for broadheads (but apparently not for field tips). Any comments on how a ring adapter affects flight, or what would happen without using an adapter?

The ring adapters are to stabalize the broadhead, so that it does not turn on you.

I took two elk and an antelope with this arrow last year and experience broad head failure. If you use this arrow use a broad head that doesn't rely on the arrow to keep the blades in i.e. muzzy, stinger or inner loc. When the arrow hits heavy bone the blades pushed the broad head ring into the carbon and then the blades fell out. I love the way these little guys fly so I might try then again with one of the heads I mentioned. Good luck.

I'm curious about the broadheads you were using when you experienced bad results with the ST Axis arrows.

Rocky Mountain Ironhead and Savora Contender. The Ironhead lost all three blades. The little 1/4" tip made it though the lungs and I still had to track him near 1 mile. I like the arrow but shoot a head that wont lose its blades if it's loose.
